Student Council
"There is an active school council, that helps improve services for students. Most students are involved in charitable activities, some of which are making a substantial and long-term impact on the local community." - Ofsted 2010
It is important that all students feel they play a part in the decisions that affect college life. Every year each tutor group elects two representatives to sit on their Year Council which makes recommendations to the College Council. This group comprises two representatives from each year and it meets regularly with senior staff and governors to consider whole school issues and to make recommendations on a range of topics. Recent consultations include reviewing the code of conduct, choosing the new blazer and forming selection panels for the appointment of senior staff.
