English - Key Stage 3
Courses at Key Stage 3
- All students follow the English Department Scheme of Work based on the Framework for English and National Curriculum.
- In addition some students will be given the opportunity to study LPUs within the context of their English lesson, thereby following an amended scheme of work. Participation will be based on prior attainment, perceived need and LPU entry advice.
- Students working at below Level 3 will be offered focused support within the context of their English lesson and through liaison with Special Needs (Literacy support/withdrawal programme).
- Where possible, teachers will provide and promote extension opportunities for the most able, including those students identified as Gifted & Talented. Examples are included within the Scheme of Work units.
