RAF Cosford

RAF Cosford
By Alexia Harvey

The Year 11 GCSE History groups were treated to a trip to RAF Cosford to see the new COLD WAR Exhibition.  We were assigned projects to work on and spent the day researching our given topics and enjoying the rest of the exhibition.

Whilst we were there, we were able to look at a lot of the aircraft that were used during the Cold War and the way in which they worked; we also found that there were a range of ‘pods’ which focused on one specific area.  These ‘pods’ showed reels of footage or audio tapes explaining the features in more detail.

The trip was really enjoyable and very educational.  I found it very helpful for learning about the Cold War - one of our important exam topics. When we returned to school we were asked to present our findings to the rest of the class, this helped us all to understand the topics a lot more.
