Pupil and team achievements
Year 7 and 8 Sports hall athletics
On Tuesday 26th January 16 pupils from year 7 and 8 attended the Telford indoor athletics event at the Madeley Court sport centre. Pupils performed in events such as the high jump, long jump, triple jump, speed bounce and shot putt. All pupils work very hard and performed very well with the boy’s team coming second and the girl’s team coming first. The girls team qualified for the county finals at the Charlton school and came a well deserved second. Well done!

Badminton
The under 16 girls are county champions and have qualified for the National Finals which were held in Birmingham on Thursday 11th March. The under 16 boys are league champions and came third in the county championships.
Recently the PE department have run a project on a Monday evening to help our GCSE PE group and our gifted and talented pupils. A badminton coach came in after school for an hour on a Monday to provide coaching to our pupils. We have already seen a big improvement in how they play.
One of our Year 9 pupils Stefan Haley has represented the county for his age group in badminton and became the Under 15 Conway open doubles champion. Well Done.
Hockey
The under 16 boys finished fourth in the Telford area championships with Callum Griffin getting the golden stick being top scorer in the tournament with 4 goals.
Football
Isobelle Foster in year 11 is currently the goal keeper for the England under 16’s squad and has recently had trials for the under 17’s England squad. We wish her the best of luck.
