Physical Education
In the PE department we have 4 members of staff:
Mr P O'Neill – Head of PE
Miss A Montgomery – Head of Year 11 & Teacher of PE
Mr P Field – Teacher of PE
Mrs N Hollins –Teacher of PE / School Sports Coordinator (SSCo)
The PE department at BRJ is thriving and always busy with pupils taking part in a variety of activities before, during and after school. Our aim as a PE department is to offer all pupils a wide variety of activities to allow them to develop as individuals as well as learning the skills necessary to work as part of a team. We have high expectations of all our pupils to perform to the best of their ability. Pupils are always encouraged to try different activities and sports and where possible they are directed to local clubs to further develop their skills.
PE is compulsory for pupils within Key Stage 3 and 4 however they also have the option of taking PE at GCSE and A-Level. Throughout all key stages pupils will experience different roles within sport such as official, coach and leader.
